Special Courses/Sections for Developmental Students

ENG 095, Reading and Composition Strategies, is an accelerated course for students who place into both developmental English and reading yet are ready for a fast-paced class that covers all major objectives of each course. This course offers a way for qualified students to increase their college-level reading and writing skills in one five-credit course thus opening up their schedule for additional courses as appropriate. The CPT raw score guidelines for placement into ENG 095 are 76-85 in Sentence Skills and 70-79 in Reading. Please call Barb Putman, ext 496, for placement questions.

Each fall and spring, we offer MAT 060/MAT 070 in a “turbo” format where students study MAT 060 for the first session and MAT 070 for the second session. This fast-paced option is most appropriate for students who score between 44 and 54 on arithmetic and between 40 and 54 on algebra.
