Mini-Compositions:
As this is a
composition
course, additional writing will be required with an aim of improving
critical
thinking and writing skills. Mini-compositions of one to two keyboarded
pages will be written on subjects from prompts given by the instructor.
They will be nine in number, about one every other week, submitted
three times during the semester.
The more thought (brain sweat) that is
expended, the better the work will be. These are not hastily composed
first
drafts but edited short compositions paying attention to correct
spelling,
punctuation and grammar. As they represent a sizeable percentage of the
final grade, they will need serious and consistent effort. Keep up with
the writing as there is no way multiple papers can be done successfully
on the night before they are due. A good mini-composition should
take at very least an hour of focused time.
