SCC Concurrent Enrollment offers qualified high school students
the opportunity to take college-level classes while still
in high school. All three Concurrent Enrollment options
are offered TUITION FREE. Courses may be offered at an area
high school, an SCC campus/center, over interactive television,
or on the Internet. Consider these options:
Dual
Enrollment
The Dual Enrollment program allows high school students
to enroll in any regularly scheduled SCC course. Credit
is earned at SCC, and is often transferable to other colleges
and universities. Students can attend during fall, spring,
or summer semesters. Students must be 16, enrolled in at
least two high school classes (except summer), recommended
by their school, and approved by the SCC President.
College
Tech Prep
College Tech Prep allows students, upon graduation from
high school, to receive advanced placement or college credit
for successfully completing selected high school courses.
To earn Tech Prep credit, students must earn a VoCATS score
of at least 70%, have a minimum course grade of “B”,
and enroll at SCC within two years of high school graduation.
