GENERAL COURSEWORK

Creating a Lean Medical Office: Learn the lean tools and techniques to transform your medical office into a more efficient, smoother running operation. You will learn how to streamline paperwork, organize the office, and maximize the use of your resources. Earn 0.4 CEUs in this half-day class.

Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs): Designed for electrical technicians, maintenance personnel, machine engineers, etc. Topics covered will include operation, usage, applications, hardware selection and configuration, ladder logic programming examples and exercises, and troubleshooting hints. Earn 2.4 CEUs in this 4-week class.

Construction Bidding Process: In the construction industry, it is now more important than ever to be able to accurately bid for jobs, whether it’s commercial, general contracting or subcontracting. Accurate bidding will not only help you get the job, but ensure you make a profit as well. This class will cover topics such as selecting which jobs to bid on, estimating material costs, and delivering a professional, comprehensive bid to the client.

REAL Entrepreneurship: REAL means “Rural Entrepreneurship through Action Learning,” and it’s not your typical business start-up course! You’ll learn how to start and operate a successful small business in a non-traditional classroom setting where lessons are learned through hands-on activities. In this fast-paced nine-week course, you’ll:

Business Basics for Boomers & Beyond: If you’re a baby boomer or beyond (age 50+) who’s nearing retirement or already retired and exploring owning your own business, this retreat is designed especially for you. During the course, you’ll have plenty of instruction on how to start or buy that dream business, as well as informal meetings around the lovely High Hampton Inn & Spa in Cashiers, where you can network, socialize, or strategize with other participants or the instructors. Not only will you leave with a clearer picture of what you want to achieve and how to go about it, but you’ll also leave relaxed and energized.
