ABCs of the Computer: 36 hrs., 3.6 CEUs
Designed and recommended for the new computer user. Learn the computer basics including: proper shut down of the computer, mouse use and maintenance, use of the keyboard, identification and use of icons, windows, menus, how to name, save, retrieve and revise a document; control panel tools; hardware and software vocabulary, basics of file management, how to use some of the system tools, how to install and remove hardware and software.

Computer Applications

Computer Business Applications: 36 hrs, 3.6 CEUs: This course will provide the student with an overview of many of the software packages found in today’s workplace. By the end of this course, you will have a sound understanding of the basic features and business applications for the word processor, spreadsheet, and presentation software in Microsoft Office. This course will also teach you the basics in how to use computers to communicate. Students should possess fundamental computing skills.

MS Excel: 36 hrs, 3.6 CEUs: This course is designed for the computer literate to intermediate level user. As a result of taking this course, participants will be able to create, sort, filter, edit, and print spreadsheet files using Excel. They will learn how to write formulas, format cells and cut, copy, and paste cells and ranges of cells.

MS Publisher: 36 hrs., 3.6 CEUs: Learn to design, create, and publishing a wide variety of documents such as newsletters, and brochures. You’ll learn how to use Publisher’s built in layouts and templates to assist you in your graphic design projects. Students should possess fundamental computing skills.

Using MS Publisher to Create A Website: 36 hrs., 3.6 CEUs: Learn to design, create and publish a website using MS Publisher. Technical issues about domain names and Internet Publishing will be addressed, as well as how to add graphics, sounds, and other objects to dress up your website.

MS Word: 36 hrs, 3.6 CEUs: This course will provide a variety of word processing skills using Word. Students will learn how to format, insert a variety of objects, use tables, headers, footers, mail merges, and run spell and grammar check along with word count. Basic computer skills are required.

PowerPoint in a Flash: 0.7 CEUs: If you have rudimentary skills in word processing and file management, we can teach you PowerPoint in a flash. As a result of taking this one-day, hands-on class you will be able to wow them at the Rotary meeting, impress the boss with your sales presentation, or get the church deacons to consider your new plan. 1-day workshop.

Computer Graphics

Cameras and Scanners: 36 hrs., 3.6 CEUs: Students will learn the basic use of a digital camera and how to download pictures from the camera or scanner to the computer. Once these images are downloaded, students will learn how to modify pictures, post them on the Internet and print the images. Bring your digital camera and manual to the first class. Basic computer skills are required.

Internet and E-mail: 24hrs, 2.4 CEUs: This class will is designed to give the student an understanding of the history and future of the Internet, common terms related to the Internet, browser functions, search engines, e-mail, security, and downloads.
