Basic Skills for Junior Fire and Rescue Personnel: For those interested in learning about fire and rescue skills needed to work and/or volunteer in the fire and rescue industry or new members of a volunteer fire/rescue department. Anyone 16-18 years of age may enroll with approval of their High School Principal. Class will not be held if not sufficient enrollment.
• SCC, PSTC TBA $50

Education Methodology: This class is for certified Fire Fighters Level II, as well as, certified Rescue Technicians who would like to instruct in both certification classes and in-service training. Course will require students to prepare lesson plans and deliver lesson plans to students. Students will learn how to incorporate multi-media into the delivery of lesson plans. At the end of the course students will be prepared to successfully complete state administered exam. Class sized limited to 16. Pre-registration and attendance of pre-orientation required on De¬cember 10th at 6PM at PSTC. Class will not be held if not sufficient enrollment. (Some Saturdays)

Summer Firefighter/Rescue Tech/Medical Responder Academy: This program will be an intense 509-hour training program with the intention of certifying fire personnel or those interested in serving as a Level two Fire Fighter, Rescue Technician and Medical Responder. Class will meet Monday - Friday with some Saturdays. Course topics, will cover all required certification classes and consist of both classroom and practicals. End of block exams and practicals will conclude each block. Students must meet the following requirements to be enrolled; turn 18 on or before June 20th, 2009, pass an academic grade level reading test, (given at pre-orientation), tenth grade level must be achieved and a physical examination. The Office of State Fire Marshall will administer practical test and final exam for certification purposes. Class size limited to 24.
