Aviation Ground School for Pilots:
(60 hrs.) This course is a study of aerospace history, weather, navigation, instruments, preflight planning, computer and wind triangles, regulations, radio communications, the aviation field and procedures necessary to become a safe private pilot. Classes are oriented toward the latest material available from the Federal Aviation Agency and students are prepared to pass the written examination required by the FAA for your private pilot license.

Commercial Driver’s License Written Exam Prep: (48 hrs.) This course is designed to help develop and teach driving skills necessary to obtain Commercial Driver’s License. The course will focus on the General Knowledge written examination that everyone must pass, regardless of their particular Class of License, ie: Class A, Class B, or Class C.

Cosmetologist CE- Chemistry Principles for Cosmetologists: (8 hrs.) In this seminar the participant will learn about the basic principles of chemistry, and gain knowledge of chemical foundations and how the hair may be altered when different products and solutions are used. An understanding of the scientific principles underlying hairdressing will be communicated and participants will learn to develop safe and hygienic salon work practices. The continuing education requirement for all licensees is eight hours per year. Cosmetologists may complete the 24 hours of continuing education any time within the cosmetologist’s three-year licensing cycle. CE Exemption: All cosmetologists with 20 years of consecutive licensure are exempt from the continuing education requirement.

EPA Refrigeration Recycling/Recovery: (12 hrs.) The certification exam will be offered at the end of this course at a cost of approximately $25 per student. Deadline for pre-registration is June 3rd.

NC Auto Safety Inspection Certification: (8 hrs.) This course covers the inspection rules and procedures of a public inspection station. Safety inspectors are responsible for knowing all the information in the NC Safety Inspection manual. Students must present a current photo ID (that includes a signature or physical description) to be admitted to class. Only a state or federal government ID or federal or state-recognized tribal government agency ID is acceptable.

NC Independent Auto Dealers CE: (6 hrs.) Independent Auto Dealers are required to take six hours of continuing education to renew their license each year. This class will focus on NC Motor Vehicle Dealers and Manufacturers Regulations and on the Vehicle Registration Section Title Manual.

NC Real Estate Update: (4 hrs.) 2008-09 NC Real Estate Update Course. This course is written by the N.C. Real Estate Commission. The main topic is the revised Offer to Purchase and Contract. Coverage of the new contract includes a practical exercise. Other topics are various licensing and education issues. The cost of course materials are included in the registration fee. Self-Supporting.

NC Real Estate Elective Course: (4 hrs.) Red Flags Property Inspection Guide-Students can increase their value as real estate agents by learning how to recognize “red flag” signals that may indicate property defects. Topics covered include: Red Flags: What Are They and What Causes Them?, Inspecting for Red Flags Inside and Outside the Home, and Red Flags Associated with Environmental Hazards and Hazardous Materials. This course includes detailed home inspection techniques with illustrations and background information on asbestos, radon, lead, and other hazards to homeowners. It has been designed to be a valuable tool for non-experts who may need help detecting red flags in residential properties. Self-Supporting.

Notary Public Education: (6hrs.) This course covers the qualifications, procedures and certification for becoming a notary. Students must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, be at least 18 years of age, reside legally in the United States and have the ability to read, write and speak the English language. Upon completion of this course with a passing exam grade of eighty percent, a person is eligible to make application with the NC Secretary of State office. Students are encouraged to read through the textbook prior to attending the course. The required textbook, Notary Public Guidelines for North Carolina 10th Edition, may be purchased in class or at the College Bookstore prior to class. Book cost is approximately $22. Students must present a current photo ID to be admitted to class.

Plumbing Contractor Exam Prep Course: (32 hrs.) This course is designed to prepare an individual to become a licensed Plumbing Contractor. The individual must have enough experience in the trade to meet the State minimum experience requirements. This course is an in-depth study of the plumbing code minimum requirements and principles involved in the designing of the plumbing system. Students must meet the State minimum experience requirement in order to take the state certification examination.

Plumbing Contractors License Renewal: (6 hrs.) This course is designed to provide the required continuing education credit for licensed plumbing contractors in North Carolina. This course meets the requirement, and has been approved by the North Carolina State Board of Examiners of Plumbing, Heating & Fire Sprinkler Contractors for continuing education credit. This course is not sponsored by the Board.

*Students must bring a copy of the 2009 NC Plumbing Code Book. Students without a book will not be permitted to take the class. A handheld calculator, pencil or pen and a highlighter will also be useful.

Plumbing Level III Standard Inspection: (16 hrs.) The Plumbing Level III course is designed for the education and training of the Plumbing Level III Code Enforcement Official who has the responsibility of inspecting plumbing installations in all types of construction of unlimited size and is built upon information presented in the Plumbing Level I and Plumbing Level II Standard Inspection courses. Upon completion, course participants will have a better understanding of the Plumbing Code of the North Carolina State Building Code and will be able to apply the Code in the inspection field. In addition, with the successful completion of the Plumbing Level II and the Law and Administration courses in conjunction with other education and experience requirements specified by the North Carolina Code Officials Qualification Board, course participants will be eligible to take the Plumbing Level III State examination for inspector certification.
