Learn How to Learn
Maybe you’ve been told that you have a learning disability.
Maybe you suspect that you have a learning disability.
A learning disability may be the reason you didn’t do well in school. And because you weren’t doing well, you dropped out. A new program at Southwestern Community College can help us – and you – understand your learning disability and help you learn how to work around it.
It is estimated that 40-50% of Americans in adult education classes or social services and job programs have some kind of learning disability.
But having a learning disability doesn’t mean that you can’t learn. And it doesn’t mean you can’t be successful.
We all have different ways of learning. Some of us are strong readers. Others of us learn better by listening.
The goal of the SCC program is to play to your learning strengths in order to overcome learning weaknesses.
If you want to get your GED, that is our goal as well. If you want just to read better or attend one of our Adult Basic Education classes, we can help.
We want you to be in a better position to improve your life.
Give our program a try.
IT IS FREE.
Call Joan Moulton at 586.4091, ext. 361 for more information on the program.
