Registration Information

 

Step 1: Apply for Admission, Transcripts and Testing

New Students/Previously Enrolled Students:

Application: New students and students who have not been enrolled for one or more semesters must complete an application for admission. The application is available online here.

Transcripts: After submitting the application for admission, students must request official transcripts from high schools and other institutions attended or GED scores be sent to the Registrar’s Office. Official transcripts or scores must be received unopened from the sending institution(s). You may download this form below.

Testing: Students seeking to enter degree programs are required to take the ACCUPLACER College Placement Test or submit appropriate SAT scores or have a grade of C or better on college level English and math. For more information about scores or to schedule the test:

Step 2:   Review Your Financial Assistance

New Students: New students who desire or need to rely on financial aid funds to pay for tuition and books are encouraged to apply for financial aid by completing the FAFSA. It normally takes 4-6 weeks to complete the process. The priority dead line for FAFSA is May 1st. 

Returning Students: Returning students must reapply for financial aid each academic year. If you have applied and not received a response, contact the Financial Aid Office.

Step 3:  Register for Summer 2012 and Fall 2012 Classes

Jackson and Macon Campuses

Currently Enrolled and New Students

Log-In to mySCC to search for open class sections. No log-in required for anyone to search for open sections. 

ADVISING & PRIORITY REGISTRATION for Summer 2012 and Fall 2012

Summer 2012

  • Students can register April 9th-April 13th by making an appointment with an advisor
  • Final Registration for first/full session: Tuesday, May 15th 8 a.m.-5 a.m.
  • Final Registration for second session: Thursday, June 21st 8 a.m.-5 a.m. 

Fall 2012 

  • Returning students can register April 9th-April 13th by making an appointment with an advisor
  • New student register with your advisor during Orientation 
  • Final Registration is Tuesday, August 14th 8 a.m.-5 a.m. 

IMPORTANT NOTICE - If you do not intend to enroll, you MUST drop all classes. Failure to do so could result in you being invoiced and held responsible for payment for the classes.

Step 4:  Orientation

Step 5:  Pay Tuition and Fees

Summer 2012

Tuition for first/full session classes must be paid by Tuesday, May 15th by 5 p.m. 

Tuition for second session classes must be paid Thursday, June 21st by 5 p.m. 

Fall 2012 

Tuition for Fall 2012 classes must be paid by Tuesday, Aug. 14th by 5 p.m. 

Pay Tuition and Fees: Pay Tuition and Fees: Tuition and fees must be paid at the Cashier's Office located on the first floor of the Balsam Center on the Jackson Campus, the Cashier's Office on the Macon Campus or online through MySCC (click on the Finances tab).

Residency: If you have questions about your residency status for tuition, please contact the Registrar’s Office at 828.339.4219.

Class Schedule: Students may obtain a copy of their class schedule from their advisor or by logging in to mySCC.

ID Cards: Students should obtain their SCC ID Card at the Cashier’s Office on either campus.

Step 6:  LOGIN MySCC - Student Class Schedule, Grades and Transcript Information

Step 7:  Buy Textbooks - NEW - Rentals Available

Textbooks can be purchased in the SCC Bookstore on the third floor of the Balsam Center. To order your books online, go to Neebo

  • Students will need a copy of their class schedule when purchasing books.
  • Rental texts are available for some courses. See the Bookstore web page for details.

Step 8:  Class Attendance Requirements (See Policy 6.11)

  • Students are EXPECTED to attend the first day of all class meetings.
  • 1st Day of Classes for Summer 2012 is May 16th 1st Session and June 21st  2 Session
  • 1st Day of Classes for Fall 2012 is Wednesday August 15th

LATE REGISTRATION begins with the student meeting with their advisor. A late registration fee is charged. Tuition and fees must be paid on the same day as the late registration occurs or the student’s class schedule will be canceled.

The ADD/DROP begins with the student meeting with their advisor. The process is complete when the Add/Drop forms is submitted to the Registrar’s Office.

Step 9:  Taking an Online Class?

Your online class will be available in Blackboard on the first day of the class - NOT before.  Your class schedule in WedAdvisor displays the start date for each class you are enrolled.  The start date can also be found in the class listing found in "Search for Sections".

Macon Campus Registration

Registration for Macon County classes will be available at the Macon Campus during the times and dates listed above.

Tuition Payment: Fees must be paid at the time of registration.

Books: Textbooks are available to Macon Students for pickup at the 

Macon Campus Business Office. Order your books online or call the Bookstore at ext. 4222 and request that your books be sent to the Macon Campus.

Orientation: All new students must complete an orientation. You are invited to participate in the live events listed above on the Jackson Campus.
