A+ Essentials Certification Exam (220-701) Prep:     72 hrs, 7.2 CEUs
The class will prepare you for the first part of the Computing Technology industry Association (Comp TIA) A+ Certification.  You can earn the A+ certification after you pass two exams (220-701 and 220-702).  This class will help prepare you for the 220-701exam. Skills learned in this class will include the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of common devices such as desktops, laptops, network and wireless devices, printers, and monitors.  You’ll also study installation and troubleshooting of common components such as CPUs, memory, disks, and power supplies.  Participants need to have an excellent working knowledge of personal computers, DOS and Windows. Textbook required.  Scholarships potentially available for qualifying students.   $175 + $5 (TF) + Textbook Cost

Electrical Contractor CE:     8 hrs,  .8 CEUs
This course provides contractors with an overview of Chapters 1-8 if the National Electrical Code (NEC). Information on the code and understanding code interpretations will be addressed.  A better working knowledge of applying the 2011 NEC in the field will be gained to assist the contractor in code compliance.  This course meets the requirements of the NC State Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors for 8 hours of continuing education credit and is not sponsored by the Board.  (Students should bring a copy of the 2011 NEC).  This course is for all classifications of NC Electrical Licenses except Unlimited.   $65

Flagger Training:     4 hrs,  .4 CEUs
This four hour flagger certification course teaches the basic procedures and operations needed to become a Flagger.  This course will provide each participant with the knowledge, skill, and responsible attitude to control traffic through work zones (safely-effectively-quickly).  The course prepares participants to do highway or utility flagging.   $65

Flipping Homes- How to Locate, Buy, Renovate and Sell Homes Profitably:     6 hrs,  .6 CEUs
Topics will include finding an opportunity, evaluating its profit potential, locating lenders, renovating, staging, and selling the home.

Independent Auto Dealer Continuing Education:     6 hrs,  .6 CEUs 
House Bill 432 mandates that any independent auto dealer seeking renewal of his/her license must show proof of attendance at a DMV-approved, six-hour Continuing Education class each year. This class will focus on NC Motor Vehicle Dealers and Manufacturers Regulation and on the Vehicle Registration Section Title Manual.  Self Supporting   $65

NC Auto Safety Inspection Certification:     8 hrs,  .8 CEUs
This course covers the inspection rules and procedures of a public inspection station. Safety inspectors are responsible for knowing all the information in the NC Safety Inspection manual.   $65

NC Broker-In-Charge Annual Review (BICAR):     4 hrs,  .4 CEUs
This course is written by the N.C. Real Estate Commision for Brokers-In-Charge only.  Self Supporting   $50

NC Real Estate Update:     4 hrs,  .4 CEUs
2011-12 NC Real Estate Update Course (9912). This course is written by the N.C. Real Estate Commission. The cost of course materials are included in the registration fee.   Self Supporting   $50

NC Real Estate Elective Course  Red Flags Property Inspection Guide:     4 hrs,  .4CEUs
Students can increase their value as real estate agents by learning how to recognize "red flag" signals that may indicate property defects. Topics covered include: Red Flags: What Are They and What Causes Them?, Inspecting for Red Flags Inside and Outside the Home, and Red Flags Associated with Environmental Hazards and Hazardous Materials. This course includes detailed home inspection techniques with illustrations and background information on asbestos, radon, lead, and other hazards to homeowners. It has been designed to be a valuable tool for non-experts who may need help detecting red flags in residential properties.  Self Supporting   $50

Notary Public Education:     6 hrs,  .6 CEUs
This course covers the qualifications, procedures and certification for becoming a notary. Students must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, be at least 18 years of age, reside legally in the United States and have the ability to read, write and speak the English language. Upon completion of this course with a passing exam grade of 80%, a person is eligible to make application with the NC Secretary of State office. Students are encouraged to purchase and read through the textbook prior to attending the course.  The required textbook, Notary Public Guidelines for North Carolina 10th Edition, may be purchased at the College Bookstore prior to class.   Book cost is approximately $27.75.  Students must present a current photo ID (including signature & physical description) to be admitted to class.  Only state or federal government ID or federal or state recognized tribal government agency ID are acceptable.   $65

OSHA 10 Hour Construction Outreach:     10 hrs, 1.0 CEUs
This course is designed for construction workers, foremen, job supervisors, and anyone involved in the construction industry. OSHA recommends Outreach Training Program courses as an orientation to occupational safety and health for workers covered by OSHA 29 CFR 1926. Upon successful completion, students will receive an OSHA 10-Hour Construction Outreach DOL course completion card.   $65

OSHA 10 Hour General Outreach:     10 hrs, 1.0 CEUs
This training program is intended to provide entry level general industry workers information about their rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint as well as how to identify, abate, avoid and prevent job related hazards on a job site.  The training covers a variety of general industry safety and healt hazards which a worker may encounter.   $65

Professional Office Management:     118 hrs,  11.8 CEUs 
This program will prepare the student to successfully work in an office environment.  Topics presented: office management, computer business applications, word processing and QuickBooks.  The student will also complete the Notary Public education class and the Career Readiness Certification (CRC).  Scholarships potentially available for qualifying students.   $175 + $5 (TF)

Tanning Bed Operator Certification:     8 hrs,  .8 CEUs
This class is mandatory for anyone who works with tanning beds.  Self Supporting   $65

Your Role in the Green Environment:     15 hrs,  1.5 CEUs 
This course will examine green construction principles and methodologies. Your Role in the Green Environment introduces the LEED Green Building Rating System, helps identify construction activities that contribute to a project's LEED rating, and addresses common construction pitfalls to avoid in achieving LEED certification.   The curriculum is endorsed by Green Advantage® and recognized as beneficial to students and practitioners planning to sit for the Green Advantage Commercial/Residential certification exam.  Textbook Required    $65 + Textbook Cost

(TF) is $5 technology fee applied to each computer class.
