Add Calculated Column
Instructors can combine multiple columns to attain Performance results, such as class averages, final grades that are based on a weighted scale, or total points. New courses will contain a Total Points column and a Weighted Grade column. The settings of these two columns will need to be configured.
Types of Calculated Columns:
Example: I'd like to create a column that indicates whether a student is passing or failing during the withdrawal period. My Grading Scheme can be Pass/Fail, but I would like to see a Percentage and a letter grade. To do this column, I would do the following:
Weighted

The Weighted Grade column can be customized: to calculate a quarterly, mid-term, or final grade (and more).

How to add a Weighted column:

Equally applies equal value to all columns within category. Proportionally applies value based on its points compared to other columns within category (example: final exam is assigned higher value than other columns within category).

Total
The Total Points column shows the cumulative points received in relation to the points allowed. To add a Total Points column, do the following:

Average
Display average for any number of quantities. The Average Grade column includes: individual grade columns; columns included in a grading period; and selected gradable columns and categories.

Minimum/Maximum
Displays minimum or maximum grade for a selection of columns. This column can be displayed to students or just the instructor.

Example: Creating a Withdrawal Period Column
First, create a Grading Period called Withdrawal Period.

Second, create your Graded Columns and select the Grading Period called Withdrawal Period.
For example, I am going to create three test columns and three discussion columns. Each column will be worth 100 points. I'll show you how I created the first test column.

Third, after creating your Graded Columns, create a Calculated Column called Withdrawal Period. I'm going to create an Average Calculated Column because I am interested in student averages.
