What is my username and password for Blackboard? |
| |
Your Blackboard Username and Password are identical to your SCC Webmail Username and Password. Your Username is the first letter of your first name (lowercase), the first four letters of your last name (lowercase), and the last four digits of your Colleague ID number. Your Password is your birthdate (mmddyy).
Example: You are a student named Sam Masters with a Colleague ID number of 0456789 and a birth date of Jan 1, 1990. Your user name would be smast6789 and your password would be 010190. |

Why can't I access my Blackboard course? |

You may not be able to connect to your Blackboard course for several reasons.
- Is a firewall or filter (including a pop-up blocker) preventing access to Blackboard? Turn off pop-up blockers and set the Blackboard login page as a "trusted site" (to do this click on Tools - Internet Options - Security - click on Trusted Sites - click Sites - type in or copy/paste http://classroom.southwesterncc.edu.
- Are you using AOL to access your course? If yes, connect to AOL - minimize AOL - connect to Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox to access your course.
- Are you typing in the correct Username and Password. See, What is my username and password for Blackboard? above.
- Did you enroll in the course before the course start date? Student accounts are uploaded to Blackboard at 8:00AM on the course start date. If you tried on the course start date after 8:00AM, contact your advisor to make sure that you are registered for the course. If you are a Concurrent Enrollment student, your course will be available on the date your high school classes begin.
- Are you a Concurrent Enrollment student? Your course(s) will be available on the date your high school classes begin.
- Did you enroll in the course after 8:00AM on the course start date? Students accounts are uploaded daily. Wait until 5:00PM to try to access your course again.
- If none of these reasons apply to you, please fill out this form.

How do I connect to my SCC Webmail account? |

Why is my Blackboard course not listed? |

Your Blackboard course may not be listed for several reasons:
- You registered for the course late and your account has not be uploaded yet. Wait until 5:00PM and try to access your course again.
- You are trying to access your course before the course start date.
