The AOL web browser will not
work for Blackboard. After connecting
to AOL you must use a separate,
supported web browser such as
IE or Netscape to access Blackboard.
Browser Configuration
Cookies must be enabled for
Blackboard to function correctly.
Some people do not permit cookies
on their computer, but Blackboard
needs to set what's called a
"Session" cookie in order to
work. You will not be able to
log onto the system until you
permit Blackboard to set that
cookie.
To permit cookies in
Internet Explorer
- Go to the Tools menu and
select Internet Options.
- Click on the Privacy Tab.
The privacy must be set to
"Medium" or lower in order
for Blackboard to work. Click
on Ok to save the changes.
- Quit Internet Explorer.
To permit cookies in
Netscape 7
- Click on the Edit menu and
select Preferences.
- Click on the arrow next
to Privacy and select Cookies.
- Click on Enable All Cookies.
- Click on OK to save changes.
Reload Cache Every
Time You Visit a Page
Internet Explorer 6
- Select Tools, then Internet
Options.
- Select the General tab.
- Select Settings from Temporary
Internet Files.
- Select the Every Visit to
the Page radio button.
- Click OK and Ok again to
save the changes.
Netscape 7
- Select Edit, then Preferences.
- Click the arrow next to
Advanced to see more options.
- Select Cache.
- Select the Every time I
view the page radio button.
- Click OK to save the changes.
