The
SCC Faculty Senate Executive Committee meeting was called
to order at 1:35 p.m. by Joe Roman, Vice President. |

Members
Attending were Ron Poor, Joe Roman, Kirk Stephens, Doug Ward,
and Paul Wolf. Dr. Gene Couch was invited to speak to the
group regarding the state-level Excellence in Teaching Award. |

Dr.
Couch reviewed the state award, its’ criteria, and SCC’s
past decisions not to participate. Winners are recognized
at the biannual Instructors’ Conference and in NCCCS
publications. |
| IV. |
Dr.
Couch asked the Executive Committee if the faculty senate
felt SCC should discuss the issue and/or participate in the
program. |
| V. |
After
a lengthy discussion, the Executive Committee decided to email
the full Faculty Senate for an opinion. Motion by Doug Ward;
Second by Paul Wolf; Carried 100%. |
| VI. |
Meeting
Adjourned at 2:40p.m. (motion by Ron Poor; second by Paul
Wolf; carried 100%). |
