Welcome
Every year, names of those
who contribute to the Southwestern
Community College Foundation
fill up several pages of our
Annual Report. The sheer length
of this list proves beyond
any doubt that the citizens
of Jackson, Macon and Swain
Counties and the Qualla Boundary
fully support our College.
By investing in Southwestern,
you are investing in the future
of many students. Consider
the young seventh-grader who
might not otherwise have an
opportunity to attend college
without New Century Scholars.
Think about the single mother
who wants to provide for her
family by earning a degree
and pursuing a better-paying,
more fulfilling career. And
remember the lifelong assembly
line worker who got laid off
when a factory left town.
All of these people
and many others who have their
own unique stories
have an opportunity to work
toward their dreams thanks
to the generosity and kindness
of all these donors we list.
Thanks to this support, the
future is brighter
for all of us.

Who
do your gifts help? A few
facts about the SCC Foundation
When you contribute to the
Southwestern Community College
Foundation, do you wonder
how your money is being spent?
With a donation to a scholarship
fund, you know that you are
not only investing in students,
but also in your community.
Each year, Southwestern Community
College graduates who have
received Foundation scholarships
enter the job market in Jackson,
Macon and Swain Counties as
workers who provide health
care when you're sick, fix
your car, care for your children,
design the advertising you
read, cut your hair and provide
other services too numerous
to count. When you think about
the people who provide everyday
services to make your life
better, you may be thinking
about our graduates.
Who
benefits from a gift to the
Southwestern Community College
Foundation?
We all do!
