| Assignment |
Coordination
of all training for businesses
and industries in the college
service area (Jackson, Macon,
and Swain counties); schedule
classes, hire instructors,
complete and process all supporting
documentation; work with community
leaders to recruit and strengthen
current businesses and industries
in the area; participate in
community activities/programs
that further the economic
development of the service
area; instruct classes; complete
appropriate reports; perform
other duties to include testing,
student advising, student
recruiting, contacts with
prospective employers, class
and test preparation; serve
on committees and teams for
the college; develop and administer
new training programs; obtain
new certification requirements
and maintain current credentials. |
| Contract
and Salary |
Full-time
occupational faculty position,
40 hours per week, 12 months
per year. Contract renewable
annually. (salary commensurate
with education and experience) |
| Qualifications |
Required:
BA, BS, or BBA degree in business
or related field with five
years work experience and
one year of teaching experience;
management experience; must
possess organizational, time
management, interpersonal,
oral, and written communication
skills; ability to operate
office equipment
Preferred:
MS or MBA degree in entrepreneurship,
manufacturing, marketing or
related field with at least
two or more years of teaching
experience and five or more
years of work experience;
possess facilitation certification;
ability to operate commercial
manufacturing machines.

two year college within
the North Carolina System
of Community Colleges.
The campus is located near
Sylva, North Carolina, the
commercial center of Jackson
County. The college
serves a three county service
area with a total population
of 76,000.
The area's economy is based
on small industry, recreation,
and tourism. The geographic
location is in rural southwestern
North Carolina near the eastern
entrance to the Great Smoky
Mountains National Park.
The urban areas of Atlanta,
Asheville, and Knoxville are
within a 150 mile radius of
