You should take a minute to check the prices at our College Bookstore, but I know a lot of you shop from other online bookstores. My personal favorite is BookPool, but I also compare prices at Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.

I strongly encourage all students to make use of the free email account provided to you by the College. I receive so much SPAM from bogus Yahoo! and Hotmail addresses that I sometimes accidentally delete a valid message without realizing it. Also, the College's SPAM filters sometimes block Yahoo/Hotmail/Others because of the included advertising. By the way, you can configure your favorite mail program to "import" your College mail, and vice-versa. All of this is "doubly-true" if you're taking an online course with BlackBoard.

I've been promoting Free AVG for a long-time now. I gave up Norton/Symantec and use AVG on my own machines. I recommend it highly (especially if you run Vista). Download and install the latest version from Grisoft. Grisoft also has an impressive anti-spyware tool and a rootkit detector.
