  This workshop provides opportunities to learn various techniques and ideas for inspiring students to become enthusiastic and motivated, including how to create an atmosphere of warmth and trust in the classroom.

Academic Integrity in Scandalous Times: Issues, Ideas, and Opportunities
Presenter: Dr. Teresa Fishman,
Director of Center for Academic Integrity, Clemson University
Date: Wednesday, November 4
Time: 2:00-3:00 p.m.
Presentation—Participants will begin by learning some of the significant findings of nearly two decades of academic integrity research on cheating (most of which has been gathered by founding CAI president Don McCabe.) They will then discuss the lessons that can be taken from what is known about cheating and put into action as best practices in both cheating-prevention and promoting academic integrity at community colleges.

3:00-4:00 p.m.
Interactive session—In part two, participants will have the opportunity to modify and adjust existing assignments and policies to make them more effective and less susceptible to breaches of academic integrity. Bring examples of academic integrity statements/ policies and assignments for discussion and revision with Dr. Fishman.
