Many of the applied science programs from the Career Technologies and Health Sciences Divisions have articulation agreements with Franklin University. A listing of SCC transfer agreements is available online.
Advisors and students are invited to attend this session and learn more about baccalaureate degree completion options with Franklin University. The visit was arranged by the SCC chapter of Alpha Beta Gamma business honor society. Contact Diania McRae at ext. 275 for more information.

MEET SCC'S NEWEST EMPLOYEE:
Amy Macbeth -
Amy Macbeth Respiratory Therapy Instructor/ Clinical Coordinator, start 11/02/09
Ms. Macbeth received an Associate of Applied Science degree in Respiratory Therapy from Florida Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Cardiopulmonary Science from the University of Central Florida. She also received training as an Emergency Medical Technician from Tallahassee Community College. Ms. Macbeth is a Registered Respiratory Therapist. She was previously employed as a critical care respiratory therapist by San Juan Regional Medical Center (Farmington, New Mexico) and as a respiratory therapist by Mercy Medical Center (Durango, Colorado), and as a critical care respiratory therapist at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida. Most recently she has been self-employed as a yoga and pilates instructor.

ADVISOR TRAINING:
Understanding Student Placement – Barb Putman and Jan Smith will review placement testing, prerequisites/corequisites, placement in developmental course, and transfer credit. This training is scheduled for Thurs, Nov 12, 2:00, Bradford Conf Center.
State Health Plan Newsletter - Member FocusThe State Health Plan will begin publishing a monthly electronic newsletter that will keep members up-to-date on pharmacy and health benefits, as well as providing tips on how to stay healthy and save money.

The newsletter, called Member Focus, will be distributed electronically on the third Tuesday of each month with the first distribution on August 18, 2009.

To begin receiving Member Focus, sign up today on the State Health Plan Web site: www.shpnc.org (enter e-mail address at the bottom right-hand corner of the page and click "Join").
