SYLVA -
The 2001-02 North Carolina College Leadership Program (NCCCLP) recently
selected Laura Pennington, Southwestern Community College's Director
of Grant Activities to enter their program. Pennington
will join colleagues across the state over the next eight months to
participate in six seminars, where participants will cover topics such
as "Local and State Budget Issues" and "Priorities and
Decisions: A President's Perspective." "Laura
has exhibited exemplary leadership abilities in her four-year tenure
at Southwestern. Not only has she managed several critical projects,
but she has brought over $17 million in grant monies to the College
and its partners," said Dr. Cecil Groves, President of Southwestern. The NCCCLP
was created in 1989 to provide an interdisciplinary approach to leadership
training through professional development. It provides the ideal preparation
and training for those eager to respond to today's challenges. |
