SYLVA - At a groundbreaking ceremony held on Thursday, Aug. 9, Hazel (fourth from left) and Ernie (not pictured) Ulmer, owners of the Best Western River Escape Inn and Suites, presented SCC's Hotel and Restaurant program and WCU's Hospitality Management program with checks for $500 apiece. Best Western, which plans to open in the spring of 2002, will be offering the colleges on-going internships.
