Students in SCC's Graphic Design Program design, sell patriotic

t-shirts

SYLVA - Considering all that has transpired the past few weeks, everyone in this country is feeling a strong need to be involved in helping our nation stand tall.

Students in SCC's Advertising and Graphic Design program have found a way for you to outwardly show your support for the U.S.A. while also assisting the recovery efforts in New York City and Washington. T-Shirts with two separate designs by students Merrie Belle Worley and Troy Brolin are now available for $10 each, with 100 percent of the profits going to the "Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund" that has been established for the families of last months' victims.

The shirts will include words written by student Barbara Murray: "Designed By Students, Printed By Students, Sold By Students, For Future Students."

Necess A Tees of Sylva is providing shirts for this project at cost, so each shirt will yield an approximate profit of $7.40.

At this time, Bob Clark, Steve Conlin and Roger Stephens are working with the SGA on locations to sell these shirts throughout Southwestern's service area of Jackson, Macon and Swain Counties as well as the Qualla Boundary. In the meantime, shirts are available in the Graphic Design area, which is located on the second floor of Oaks Hall on Southwestern's Jackson Campus.
