SCC Foundation's Dinner Theater tickets on sale now

SYLVA - The Southwestern Community College Foundation, Inc. will host their annual dinner theater gala beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 4.

The evening will begin with a dinner buffet prepared by Southwestern's culinary program. Dinner entrees will include a choice of Steamship Round and Chicken Florentine served with nutty brown rice, roasted red potatoes, lemon broccoli, glazed baby carrots and rolls, followed by an assortment of cheesecakes for dessert. After dinner, guests will be amused with Lee's Blessing's heartfelt "Eleemosynary."

This sensitive and probing play examines the subtle and often perilous relationship between three remarkable women: the grandmother, Dorothea, who has sought to assert her independence through strong-willed eccentricity; her brilliant daughter, Artie, who has fled the stifling domination of her mother; and Artie's daughter, Echo, a chiId of exceptional intellect.

Admission to this year's dinner theater gala is $40. Door prizes will be drawn immediately following dinner. Ticket sales are limited to 135 and are available now by calling Becky Medford, SCC's Foundation executive director, at 586-4091 or (800) 447-4091, Ext. 218 or through any SCC Foundation board member.
