SCC's Native American Society Club members, from left, Billy Lossiah and Charlene Otter, along with staff advisor, Jan Smith, presented a Native American lithograph in memory of classmate Deanah McCoy to the college this week.

SYLVA - Members of Southwestern Community College's Native American Society Club presented the college with a lithograph, donated by the Museum of Cherokee Indian, in memory of classmate Deanah McCoy. McCoy was a student in the General Occupational Technology program at SCC from 1998-2000.

"I admired Deanah for following her heart and pursing her educational goal," said Smith. "I know she made sacrifices to become a full-time student, but I believe she was happy with herself for doing so."

The lithograph, by Lynn King Lossiah, will be displayed in Student Services, located on the first floor of the Balsam Center on SCC's Jackson Campus.

For additional information, contact Smith at 586-4091 or (800) 447-4091 ext. 332.
