races 4 literacy
Southwestern
Community College’s adult basic education
instructors and other campus personnel will Race
4 Literacy during Franklin’s Christmas Parade
3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 28. From left, Kay Clemmons,

president Cecil Groves, Joan Moulton and Rita Gregory
suited up in their promotional shirts and gear Friday,
Nov. 19, to prepare for the race. The literacy crew
will accompany race cars driven by Kip Cochran and
Doug English and will pass out brochures about classes
to tune up reading, writing, math or English-speaking
skills. “We can also help adults cross the
finish line with their high school diploma,”
said Moulton, director of Southwestern’s literacy
