Waldroup named recipient of Lockhart Follin-Mace Scholarship

The 2004 Lockhart Follin-Mace scholarship was presented to SCC Nursing student Darlene Waldroup (right) of Bryson City this week. Arlene Bishop, president of Physically Challenged, Inc., presented Waldroup a check for $200 to help offset educational expenses. Also pictured is Terry Freeman (left), SCC's Financial Aid Officer. Physically Challenged, Inc. assists disabled people in Jackson and Macon Counties. The Lockhart Follin-Mace scholarship is presented each year to a second year nursing student who has demonstrated both academic achievement and financial need.
