Southwestern
Community College will see the largest graduating
class in its 40-year history Friday,
May 6, when 361 students walk across the stage
in Myers Auditorium in two commencement ceremonies.
Students from the Health Sciences and Arts and
Sciences divisions will graduate at 4 p.m. and
those from the Career Technologies division will
receive their Associate of Applied Science degrees,
Associate in Arts degrees, diplomas and certificates
at 7:30 p.m.
"We have outgrown the ability to have just
one commencement ceremony for all the graduates,"
Dr. Cecil Grove, SCC president, said. "By
holding separate ceremonies for the two divisions,
all the families and friends of our graduates
can be here to support them."
