Scholarship to attend Southwestern Community College.
Karen Morrow, financial center manager, presents
the award to Jones, a single mother of two, who
has a GPA of 3.77, is a member of SCC’s Spanish
Club and Human Services Club, volunteers as a Spanish
tutor, assists SCC’s Student Services and
serves on Sylva Mayor Brenda Oliver’s Multi-Cultural
Task Force. Judy Wilkey of Sylva, not pictured,
also received a Wachovia scholarship. She is a student
in SCC’s Cyber Crime program, has a GPA of
3.3, is a weather spotter for WLOS-TV and is actively
involved in the UNC Center for Public Television
Telethon. |
