SCC's Spanish Club invites you to its first “FIESTA” for 2005

Dance to the music of the Mojito Latino Band during a Noche de Colores Fiesta Friday, Feb. 25, at Western Carolina University’s Ramsey Center. The band, led by Tito Amaya from El Salvador, is based in Asheville.

The event will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. and is sponsored by Conectando Mundos, Southwestern Community College’s Spanish Club. It will kick off this region’s “Year of Languages” proclaimed by the U.S. Senate to honor “our nation’s multilingual heritage and promote the value of learning foreign languages in the 21st century.”

Mexican dancers will be featured, along with salsa dancers who will teach Latino steps.

The cost is $7 for adults; no cost for children under 12. Tickets will be sold at the door or can be reserved by calling 586-4091, ext. 475. Proceeds will assist the non-profit club in its multilingual service to the community.
