Construction blueprint reading offered
The
correct interpretation of blueprint reading is vital
to every phase of a construction project. All too often
on a job site, stockpiled materials await return to
the supplier or there is a shortage of products that
stops or delays a crew. This lost momentum results in
slowed productivity which costs companies money.

Local
building contractor Carroll Poindexter will teach
an evening construction blueprint reading class
through Southwestern Community College starting
in June. |
Such
loss can be avoided by developing blue print reading
skills through Southwestern Community College’s
Construction Blue Print class that starts Tuesday, June
6, at the SCC Macon Center behind and next to the courthouse
in downtown Franklin. The course will meet on Tuesday
and Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. for seven weeks. The registration
fee is $55.
Carroll Poindexter will be the instructor. Poindexter
currently owns and operates Wolf River Construction,
Inc., which provides general contracting services for
renovations, additions and new residential homes. Poindexter
brings to the classroom a wealth of knowledge gained
through 14 years as a job foreman and five years in
estimating and project management.
To register for this course, contact an SCC Center nearest
you, or phone Keith Corbeil at the SCC Business Assistance
Center at 488-6413. Or send e-mail to kcorbeil@southwesterncc.edu.
