With holiday ornaments on the trees, painted on the children's faces and decorating Christmas cookies, the Balsam lobby at Southwestern Community College filled with colorful festivities during the community-wide holiday party Tuesday, Dec. 5, from 5 to 8 p.m. The event, sponsored by the Jackson County Family Resource Center, Region A Partnership for Children, Department of Social Services and the Jackson County Public Library, featured crafts, music, finger foods and visits with Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Several SCC faculty and staff were among the volunteers helping make the very well-attended event such a spirited success.
