Ron Poor Scholarship awarded
Adam Huggins and Nicholas Bryant are recipients of Ron Poor Scholarship for electronics engineering majors
Adam Huggins, left, of Franklin, and Nicholas Bryant, right, of Clyde, have been awarded this year's Ronald W. Poor scholarship for electronics engineering technology majors at Southwestern Community College. The scholarship, sponsored by the Quin Theaters, Inc. of Sylva. is named for SCC's program coordinator for electronics engineering technology. It is open to students in the associate of applied science degree programs in electronics engineering technology and computer engineering technology. Huggins, son of Ernest Huggins of Franklin and Gail Dean of Asheville, is a double major in electronics engineering technology and computer engineering technology at Southwestern. A 2005 graduate of Franklin High School, he serves as a peer tutor for student support services at Southwestern. He is currently employed as a client service representative at Drake Software. Bryant is an electronics engineering technology major and plans to graduate along with his wife Cindy, a computer engineering technology major, in 2007. He is a graduate of Pisgah High School and currently works part time as a sales associate at Lowe's. He is a member of National Technical Honor Society and the SCC electronics club.
