Pottery
show and sale to be
held Dec 8
Students and faculty of
the Southwestern Community College Heritage
Arts pottery program will participate
in a show and sale of their work Friday,
Dec. 8, at SCC. The sale will take place
from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Balsam Center.
The event will feature both wheel thrown
and hand built pottery by the group. Of
particular interest will be raku pieces
created using the horsehair technique.
"We are excited to hold this pre-Christmas
show and sale here at SCC," pottery
instructor Joe Frank said. "This
is the first year for the Heritage Arts
program and I'm extremely pleased with
the advances students in the pottery classes
have made. The work by the pottery students
is impressive and they are eager to share
their success with the public."
The Heritage Arts program includes clay
and metalworking. For more information
about the program or the show and sale,
contact Hank Shuler, director, Extension
Education: Business and Industry Training,
