Ten students were inducted
into the Alpha Eta Nu chapter
of Phi Theta Kappa honor society
Tuesday evening, Nov. 28,
2006 at Southwestern Community
College during a candlelight
ceremony in Myers Auditorium.
Those inducted were Suzanne
Witt Cantrell of Franklin,
Jeremiah Kawika Chatham of
Sylva, Amanda Lynne Cowan
of Franklin, Rhia Estes of
Franklin, Tonya Larissa Mathis
of Whittier, Allison Paige
Peddycord of Waynesville,
Jenet Elaine Rosas of Sylva,
Dawn Deas Shuler of Bryson
City, Jennifer Ann Tinsley
of Sylva and Shelly Rose Vogler
of Whittier.
Cantrell majors in paralegal
technology at SCC. Chatham,
Cowan, Estes and Mathis are
college transfer majors. Peddycord
is a physical therapist assistant
major. Rosas majors in criminal
justice latent evidence and
Shuler, Tinsley and Vogler
major in radiography.
Chapter membership requirements
include that a student must:
be enrolled in 24 hours on
a full-time basis toward an
associate degree; have a grade
point average of 3.5 or better
for the last two semesters;
and possess both ethical standards
and qualities of citizenship
and leadership.
