Southwestern Community College will offer a tree Pruning and Landscape Installation workshop on Saturday, October 7, at the SCC Macon Center at the Macon County Courthouse. The workshop is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.

Sylva resident David Hatton, SCC landscaping instructor and nationally certified arborist, will lead the workshop. Hatton has over 20 years of experience in the green industry with the majority of his work concentrated in arboriculture and landscaping.

"We’ll cover how to prune small trees and shrubs and correctly install them into the landscape design,” Hatton said. “Care of plants will also be covered. Those attending the workshop should wear sturdy shoes and bring pruning shears if they have them. If not, we’ll share what we have in class.”
