Club of Jackson County
presented a scholarship
to Gladys Mogensen, center,
to attend Southwestern
Community College. The
Newcomers Club gives the
award to a student who
has moved here but must
pay out-of-state tuition.
"It's our way of
welcoming them to the
area," said club
vice president Renee Cohen,

Wanda Moss. The Newcomers
Club has more than 60
members, including those
who have just moved here
and those who have been
here a long time. Anyone
interested in joining
the club is invited to
a luncheon Saturday, June
2, at SCC. The cost is
$10 and for more information
