The Small Business Center at
Southwestern Community College
makes seminar attendance easier.
It will offer three Thursday
night tele-seminars in July’s
Summertime is Calling Me series.
"Tele-seminars are a
great way for people to gain
access to a topic without
the investment in travel and
time that accompany a traditional
class,” said Russ Seagle,
director of the Small Business
Center. “From the comfort
of their own homes, participants
can simply call in, learn
and interact with other participants
and the instructor.”
Three topics will be addressed
in the series, including Start
Your Next Business for 30
Cents on July 12, How to Publish
a Book on July 19, and Harness
the Power of Charm on July
26. All seminars will be from
7:00-8:30 p.m.
"Tele-seminars tend
to be shorter than face-to-face
seminars, and they’re
very heavy on usable content
because, on the phone, there’s
no room for fluff. It’s
all meat,” said Seagle.
“Participants won’t
be put on the spot or asked
direct questions. After they
let the instructor know they’re
on the line, they can just
sit back and learn.”
To register for any or all
tele-seminars in this series,
call the Small Business Center
at 828.488.6413. Participants
will be given a telephone
number and access code to
the seminar, as well as a
few instructions and pointers
on having a successful tele-seminar
experience.
