Shane Sullivan finds the
weather perfect for cruising
with the top down in this
1968 Chrysler 300 as he prepares
for Southwestern Community
College’s Car and Bike
Show Saturday,
Oct. 27.
Sullivan, an SCC automotive
systems technology student
from Maggie Valley, invites
other cruisers to bring their
favorite ride to the show
which will be held from 10
a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Jackson
Campus. The vehicle registration
fee is $15 beforehand, or
$20 the day of the show. Vendors
are welcome. Trophies and
prizes will be awarded. The
event is a school fund-raiser
sponsored by the automotive
technology and culinary arts
clubs. Come hungry, too, Sullivan
said, since breakfast will
be served from 9 a.m. until
11 a.m. and starting at 11
a.m. the culinary club will
sell frybread and chili, as
well as pizza. The show is
free to the public.
