World Oil Production

Deanne Oppermann
What do we need to know about world oil production? Southwestern Community College science instructor Deanne Oppermann, who recently returned from a fellowship trip to Alaska, will share vital information during two special programs Thursday, Nov. 8, on the Jackson Campus. The programs, dealing with fossil fuel supply and environmental impact, will take participants on a virtual tour utilizing Google Earth. Oppermann will be joined by Brian Kloeppel, research scientist at Cowetta Hydrologic Laboratory, who will present recent trends in global and local climate change that are influenced by the use of fossil fuels. The first program will be held 2 p.m. at Bradford Hall Conference Room. An evening program at 7 p.m. will be held in Balsam 148B.
