Southwestern Community College has announced the President’s and Dean's lists for Summer 2007. A total of 18 students made the cut for these prestigious honors.

To be named to the President’s List, a student must achieve and maintain a 3.85 grade point average (GPA), be enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours of courses under a degree-seeking program for the semester, and must not have any incomplete or failing grades. Being named to the Dean’s List signifies that a student has achieved and maintained a 3.50 GPA in addition to the other requirements as stated.

Three students from Jackson County were named to the President’s List and three to the Dean’s List at Southwestern Community College for Summer 2007.

Named to the President’s List include by town:
Sylva- Lisa Burkle and Brian Thompson; Dillsboro- Manuela Dietz.

Those named to the Dean’s List include: Cashiers- John Arnst; Cherokee – Lizzie Bernal; Sylva – Amber Sumrak.

Four students from Macon County were named to the President’s List and five to the Dean’s List for Summer 2007.

Named to the President’s List include James Collins, Dawn Enloe, Tammy Holland and Jerry Watson.

Those named to the Dean’s List include Lucas Harris, Dereck Jones, Michael Ramey, Shane Simons and Chase Simons.

Three students from Swain County were named to the President’s List.

They are Bonnie Baker of Bryson City, Christian Conway of Whittier and Henrietta Heeter of Cherokee.
