Southwestern Community College’s
Health Fair
this year will include a food
drive for the Community Table.
Participants attending the
Nov. 8 event
are asked to bring canned
goods to be donated to the
Community Table.
Sponsored by SCC nursing students,
the health fair will be from
8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Balsam
Center on SCC’s Jackson
Campus. Stop by and have your
blood pressure checked by
nursing students like Julie
Naegler of Cullowhee and Luke
Bell of Webster. You can also
have your cholesterol and
blood sugar checked and learn
how to protect yourself from
unwanted infection. The highway
patrol will also be checking
car seats. Information booths
will provide materials on
everything from diabetes to
proper hand washing techniques.
You could even win a door
prize.
