“We’ve been open
for folks to come by and watch
us move in our new furniture
and all our new equipment, but
Monday, Aug. 6, we will officially
be open for business,”
Connie Haire, vice president
of the new Southwestern Community
College Macon Campus, said.
“The timing is right,”
she said since registration
for fall semester is Aug.
16. “Folks can come
on by and apply now, if they
want.” Applications
are also online at www.southwesterncc.edu.
“We’ve wanted
the community to feel at home
here because this is Macon
County’s first college
campus- it’s quite an
event. That’s why we’ve
had it open for folks to see
how we have progressed,”
Haire said. “Now we
are ready on the business
end to help them find out
what courses and programs
we have here and let them
know what financial aid is
available.
“If they want to just
stop by and look at this gorgeous
new building, that’s
fine, too.” It is located
at 815 Siler Road in Franklin
next to the new Macon County
Library.
