Two Southwestern Community College
instructors will present a History
of the Muslim World: 1,400 Years
of Conflict and Misunderstanding
during two sessions on Tuesday,
Oct. 16. History instructor
Duane Wesolick will focus on
the history of confrontation
in the Middle East, particularly
between the Muslim world and
the West while sociology instructor
Bucky Dann will concentrate
on the religious aspect of Islam,
with an emphasis on the radical
fundamentalist movement of modern
times. Both one-hour sessions
will be held in the Bradford
Hall Conference Room
on the Jackson Campus. The afternoon
program at 3 p.m.
is mainly for students, faculty
and staff while the 7
p.m. program is open
to the public.
