More than 60 businesses from
Asheville West have already
signed up to participate in
Southwestern Community College’s
Career and Job Fair on Thursday,
March 13.
The event will be held in
the Balsam Center of the Jackson
Campus from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Lunch will be served following
the event.
“Our annual career
and job fair is a wonderful
opportunity for employers
to meet our students and faculty
and learn more about the college,”
said Patty Kirkley, SCC career
planning and placement coordinator.
“It’s also a chance
for them to promote their
organization.”
Additionally, it’s
a prime time for employers
to meet potential employees,
according to Kirkley. For
employers who have full, part-time,
internship or co-op positions,
professional interviews can
be conducted.
“At Southwestern we
serve the community and this
event is open to all adults
in the community,” said
Kirkley. “You do not
have to be an SCC student
to attend.” There is
no registration fee for the
event.
