Our programs keep growing,"
Klavohn said. "For instance,
just last fall we added a medical
assisting degree, which is a popular
field. The increase in the number
of doctors and health care providers
has created a demand for medical
assistants. Our curriculum prepares
students to perform administrative,
clinical and laboratory procedures.
Some medical assistants are that
all-important front desk person
you see in physicans' offices,
health departments or hospitals."
Or, perhaps you have thought
about working with people to help
restore their functional abilities-
everything from overcoming chronic
pain, regaining motion in damaged
nerves and muscles, gaining mobility
for walking or running, to regaining
function to play a sport. Klavohn
suggested that a physical therapist
assistant might be your ideal
career.
"Our faculty will be available
to talk to participants about
what's out there for them in the
health professions," she
said. "We can talk opportunities,
jobs, salaries and growth potential."
