Deputy takes a hit during Spring Fling

Normal Smith takes a pie in the face during Spring Fling at SCC

Jackson County Sheriff's Deputy Norman Smith takes a pie in the face during Southwestern Community College's Spring Fling Thursday, April 10, on the Jackson Campus. The SCC resource officer took the hit from strong-armed SCC maintenance mechanic Henry Stephens. Sponsored by SCC's Student Life Committee, the event included a tug of war contest (won by the faculty/staff team), a dunking booth that kept SCC criminal justice/cyber crime instructor Mike Burnette soaked all afternoon, car bashing, a blow gun contest, an obstacle course, chicken bingo, raffles, free lunch and music by Andy.
