Southwestern Community College’s Upward Bound team placed second in the Scholar Bowl State Competition held recently on the campus of North Carolina Central University. In addition, the individual high scorer from the event was Daniel Ferguson of Smoky Mountain High School. Students were asked questions from literature, mathematics, current events, science, social science, computers and African-American history.
