SCC graduates new law enforcement class

Jennifer Leandro, left, of Franklin, graduated from Southwestern Community College’s Basic Law Enforcement Training class Friday, Aug. 29, during an 11:30 a.m. ceremony on the Jackson Campus. Leandro was elected sergeant of her 18-member class. Presenting awards are Melissa Hill, center, SCC law enforcement instructor, and Curtis Dowdle, right, SCC public safety director.

Dustin Wright and Wahnetah Oocumma, both of Cherokee, high five each other following their graduation Friday, Aug. 29. from Southwestern Community College’s Basic Law Enforcement Training class. The two, along with fellow graduate Daniel Winchester, are already employed with the Cherokee Indian Police Department.
