“You are committing
yourself to a job that 24/7/365,”
Franklin Chief of Police Terry
Bradley told the graduates
of Southwestern Community
College’s Basic Law
Enforcement Training Program
during their graduation ceremonies
Friday, Sept. 4, on the Jackson
Campus.
In describing how their
career will be every hour
of every day, Bradley said,
“You make this sacrifice
because you know somebody
has to keep the wolf from
the door.” Their roles
will not be limited to law
enforcer, but will include
social worker, counselor,
first responder, rescue
worker and bearer of news,
he said.
Sheriff Jimmy Ashe of Jackson
County, Sheriff Curtis Cochran
of Swain County and Sheriff
Joe Shook of Clay County
joined Bradley in congratulating
the 18 members of BLET Class
#63 and welcomed them “into
the brother and sisterhood
