Coats for Kids

The Coats for Kids Drive is now accepting donations of coats, hats, gloves and winter socks for youth ages 3-18.

“We want to help ensure that children stay warm this winter season in Jackson County,” said Christy Rowe, who is organizing the drive along with fellow classmates in Southwestern Community College’s Positive Psychology class.

Donations of new and gently-used items will be accepted through Oct. 31 and may be left in the donation box in the lobby of SCC’s Balsam Building on the Jackson Campus. Donations may also be left at the office of Cullowhee Valley School and in the downstairs foyer of Cullowhee United Methodist Church.

Those who need winter clothing for youth ages 3-18 are invited to the distribution day Saturday, Nov. 7, from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. in SCC’s Balsam Building lobby.

For more information, contact Rowe at crowe5525@student.southwesterncc.edu.
